Settlor Directed Investment Trusts
The Settlor Directed Investment Trust (SDIT) has been prepared by Cayman Islands’ legal counsel for and has been drawn up with three principal objectives in mind:
- To allow the Settlor to make financial provision for their family after their death
- To dispense with the need for probate following death in respect of assets held in the Settlor Directed Investment Trust
- To enable the Settlor to maintain significant control over the assets held in the Settlor Directed Investment Trust, including the power to directly control the investment of the Trust Fund, while maintaining the integrity of the Trust.
